I am in the process of “retiring” some of my beautiful American Girl doll models. The dolls have worked very hard modeling outfits for The Doll Clothes Shop and it is now time for them to find a new home with a young girl to love them. How much hair does the Velcro on your American Girl doll’s clothing wear?

It is strange how little things observed can help you come up with great ideas!

One day I was watching my granddaughter, Maryn dress and undress an older 18” AG type doll. I noticed that the Velcro on the outfits were becoming quite hairy. That is when the realization hit that an almost 6 year old is not old enough to take care of the doll’s hair properly when Velcro is involved. This is how I came about designing The Doll Clothes Shop’s new EASY CARE WEAR clothing line for 18 inch doll clothes.
