I am in the process of “retiring” some of my beautiful American Girl doll models. The dolls have worked very hard modeling outfits for The Doll Clothes Shop and it is now time for them to find a new home with a young girl to love them. As girls do love clothes and accessories each doll package includes a number of outfits and accessories. Each outfit is individually wrapped with accessories for easy gift giving. It is always fun to have a new outfit around for a special occasion or treat! The doll included is shown modeling each outfit included in the package.
It is strange how little things observed can help you come up with great ideas!
One day I was watching my granddaughter, Maryn dress and undress an older 18” AG type doll. I noticed that the Velcro on the outfits were becoming quite hairy. That is when the realization hit that an almost 6 year old is not old enough to take care of the doll’s hair properly when Velcro is involved. This is how I came about designing The Doll Clothes Shop’s new EASY CARE WEAR clothing line for 18 inch doll clothes.
Designed without Velcro makes the EASY CARE WEAR clothing perfect for young girls to change outfits on their 18 inch dolls such as American Girl without their outfits claiming their doll’s hair.
The new clothing line is now available in the Doll Clothes Shop under the category of 18 inch doll clothes…..Easy Care Wear.

Last year we opened The Doll Clothes Shop web store. It was quite an experience getting the web store up and running, stocking the store, plus lots of photographing to show how the outfits look on an American Girl®.
